  The Jagunmolu of Ikaleland and Ojagbulegun from the source, Prince Dr. Gen. Olu Bajowa, OFR, has paid a special visit to the palace of ‘Arole Oodua’, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II. Gen. Bajowa, who arrived the threshold of the milestone age of 80 in December last year and celebrated it with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols, invited distinguished and prominent Nigerians to the event. Mother Esther Abimbola Ajayi, has urged religious leaders as well as Nigerians to continue to pray for the country in order to overcome challenges confronting her. The Cleric made the call during a visit by Executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos Council led by its Chairman, Mr.Adeleye Ajayi on Tuesday. According to her, there is need for all of us to be more prayerful because there can never be peace when there are crisis in the land. The Christian cleric said that she would continue to pray for Nigeria as she was optimistic that there would not be any outbreak of war in Nigeria.  "He is God of new beginning and nothing is impossible for Him to do. God always had a way of restoring calmness in Nigeria whenever any crisis was looming," Ajayi said. Oyo CAN Declares July 2 Special Day Of Prayers Against Insecurity In The State

Christian Association of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter has declared that July 2, 2021 will be set aside as a day of intercession against insecurity in Oyo State and the country.  This was part of resolutions reached today, between Oyo State government and Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN) during a stakeholders meeting with the Christian body in Oyo state.  During the meeting, the State Government represented by Hon. Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun and the Executive Assistant on Administration, Rev. The Government of the State of Osun has called on residents of the state, especially religious and ethnic groups, on the need to coexist peacefully in order to maintain the peace profile of the state. The government of the State of Osun has debunked rumours making the rounds that it withheld the severance package of some former political office holders in Councils to punish them. Recall that Osun government recently announced the release of severance package to former elected officers in local government councils, whose tenure ended February 5, 2021. However, rumours emerged following the payment, that the payment of some officers was withheld because of their loyalty to a former governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adeleke Yekeen Adebayo, Osun government described the insinuation as a deliberate conjecture meant to mislead the public on activities of the government. The dramatis personae often times are not confused even though the situation may present a blurry image.     I have listened to and read various things said and written about Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State. Most of them have dwelled on how well he has performed as governor in two years under very harsh economic challenges.
