Aivoji, Emerges Lagos PDP Chairman

   Former Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism in Lagos State, Philip Aivoji Olabode, on Monday emerged the state chairman of Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the party’s congress conducted, defeating five other aspirants for the position. Aivoji emerged winner of the exercise, which started on Sunday at 11 am with the accreditation of delegates at the Police College in Ikeja GRA, followed by voting and counting at Haven Hall beside Archbishop Vining Church, also in Ikeja, which was finally brought to conclusion around 6 am on Monday. Aivoji polled 839 votes, defeating his closest rival, Dr Amos Fawole with a margin of 23 votes as he scored 816 votes. A total of 1,786 delegates were accredited for the congress.   The national body of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has queried the Lagos State Council Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo), over alleged insubordination and indulging in anti-union activities The letter dated February 14 by the General Secretary of the union, Alhaji Kabiru Ado Yau, accused Akinsanya of refusing to carry out directives given to him in by the national body. BUA Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu Blames Middlemen, Other Manufacturers For High Price Of Cement, Despite Increased Production

The Bill was read the first time on Wednesday 9th June, 2021. The bill seeks to amend the Federal High Court Act to cure the shortcomings inherent in the Principal Act to make provisions for the regulation of the award of pre-judgment interest to ensure the attainment of substantial justice, particularly in relation to claims bothering on commercial transactions.
