A pressure group,  Amuwo Arise for Good Governance has raised an alarm over plans to substitute the name of the winner of the recently conducted APC primary election in Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1.   The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos East Senatorial ticket for the 2023 general elections. Abiru, the Chairman, Senate Committee on industries who contested unopposed cleared all the 344 votes cast by delegates from wards in the Local Governments areas under the district.   Lagos State Governor, Bababjide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, emerged Lagos All Progressives Congress, APC, flagbearer re-election bid in the 2023 governirship poll.  Sanwo-Olu, who was a sole contestant, emerged candidate at the APC 2023 Governorship primary, held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, formerly, Onikan Stadium, Lagos Island. 1,198 out of 1,225 registered State delegates were officially accredited for the Lagos APC Governorship Primary.  Voting started at about 2.pm and lasted for about 4pm before sorting and counting took place. Adediran polled 679 while his rival David Kolawole Vaughan (Dakova) polled 20 votes at the governorship primaries held on Wednesday in Ikeja, Lagos. While announcing the result after sorting and counting of the votes, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr Emmanuel Ogidi, said the accredited votes were 709 and that 10 votes were voided. Ogidi said it was only 19 local governments out of 20 that participated in the election, saying that Ajeromi-Ifelodun local government delegates resisted accreditation because of their claim that the delegates list was at variance with what the Committee had.    He commended the aspirants for their show of sportsmanship during the contest, saying it was the best for the party in the state. World Culture Day: Oyo Govt. Restates Commitment to Cultural Development

  A Lagos mobile court at Bolade Oshodi, headed by magistrate T. O. Fashina, has jailed for three months (3-months) a 32 year old environmental offender, Abubakar Sanni, who posed under the guise of cart pushing, to vandalise and steal iron rods at Karim Kotun area of Victoria Island, Lagos.  The Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, made this known on Saturday, following the apprehension and prosecution of the cart pusher.  He said, “The Authority wants to make it clear that cart pushing remains outlawed in the state. The menace of cart pushers has led to the rise of indiscriminate waste disposal, coupled with the fact that criminal elements now hide under it to perpetuate their crimes”.
