Oyo BOTAVED Organises CBT Test for Technical College Applicants

 



The Chairman, Oyo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BOTAVED) Elder Adekola Ayoade has said that the present administration would provide new infrastructural equipment, teachers, instructors that will transform five Technical Colleges in the State to a model and best in the country. 


He stated this while monitoring the conduct of Computer Based Test for candidates aspiring to get admission into the State Technical Colleges at a CBT centre along Mokola-Sango road, Ibadan. 


Elder Adekola expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the examination saying that, some  Artisans that applied for admission into the Technical Colleges showed their skill in computers during the CBT examination.


He said "we have five Technical Colleges in Oyo State, they are in Ibadan, Ogbomosho, Saki, Oyo, and Iseyin areas of the State, the State Government would provide modern equipment, Teachers, instructors to turn the State Technical Colleges to a model".


He pointed out that students after their three years at the College would not need to depend on Government jobs, they will rather stay on their own to be an employer of labour. 


The Executive Secretary of the Board, Mrs Esan Williams said the admission into the Technical Colleges would get out-of-school children back to school on skill acquisition which according to her is necessary for self reliance.


Esan Williams added further that Governor Seyi Makinde free Education Policy would re-enroll several out of school children into skill acquisition at the various Technical Colleges in the State.


One of the College applicants commended the State Government for giving them the opportunity to have vocational education, hinting that, it will help them to stand on their own in the future.
