It was a moment of celebration and excitement in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, as telecommunications giant Globacom rewarded lucky subscribers with brand-new Kia Picanto cars and other prizes in its ongoing Festival of Joy promotion.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of two Kia Picanto cars to Mr. Adeola Olatayo Silas, a quantity surveyor, and Mr. Seun Okeowo, a media practitioner. In addition, several other winners received power-generating sets, sewing machines, and grinding machines.

An overwhelmed Silas could hardly contain his excitement as he repeatedly exclaimed, "Wow, wow!" upon seeing the sleek car on display. After regaining composure, he expressed gratitude to Globacom, stating that he had always been a loyal customer and hoped to win someday. "I am so delighted my desire has today become a reality," he said.

Similarly, Okeowo, the second car winner, said he had followed the Festival of Joy promo with keen interest and had hoped to be a beneficiary. He prayed for Globacom’s continued success as it spreads joy across Nigeria.

For some winners, the news of their winnings initially seemed too good to be true. Pastor Oluwole Abayomi, an Akure resident who won a power-generating set, revealed that he was skeptical when he received the call. "My brother actually warned me to be cautious because it might be a ruse to kidnap me," he said. He later confirmed the authenticity of the promo and thanked Globacom for its generosity.

Another winner, Oluwole Babatunde Olusegun, a teacher in Ibadan who won a sewing machine, said the prize would benefit his family. “My wife and children will use it to learn fashion designing. My next target is to win a car,” he said.

Similarly, Waheed Azeez, a trailer driver who won a grinding machine, disclosed that his wife would put it to good use by running a milling business.

Deputy Governor Commends Glo

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Lawal, who was the Special Guest at the event, lauded Globacom for its commitment to rewarding loyal customers. He described the company as a pride of Nigeria and Africa, noting that its initiatives have empowered many Nigerians.

"Globacom is not just attracting customers but also giving back to them. This shows that it means well, not only for its subscribers but for all Nigerians," he said.
