OYSCOHEST SUG ELECTIONS 2025/2026 SESSION; BABALOLA WISDOM EMERGES AS PRESIDENT*

Following a peacefully conducted election by representatives of students from various departments, new Students’ Union executives of Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan, have emerged.


After a keenly contested poll, Babalola Wisdom Oluwabukunmi of the Medical Laboratory Department had 59 votes, beating his close rival, Kelvin Michael of the Oral Health Department, who polled 52 votes.

FyneDavid Ngozi, General Secretary.


Bankole Akinniyi James, Financial Secretary.


Abdulsalam Nastoh, Assistant Secretary.


Oyedare Omowumi Titilayo, Social Director.


Oluwadare Priscilla, Public Relations Officer I.


Adebo Damilola, Public Relations Officer II.


The conduct of the election was characterised by a peaceful atmosphere. The process remained orderly throughout, with members of the ISEC, DSS, and NANS, as well as candidates' agents and observers, present to monitor proceedings.


At the close of polls by 1:30 p.m., the sorting and counting of votes commenced in the presence of NANS, DSS representatives, and the Independent Students’ Electoral Committee ISEC. Votes were collated transparently, and results were immediately announced by the Chairman of the Independent Students’ Electoral Committee (ISEC).


Addressing the new SUG team presented by the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Amos Taiwo Ojewale, in the Office of the Provost, the College Provost, Mrs Oluyemisi Oyewo, congratulated the new executives, advising them to work as a team, avoid taking unilateral decisions, and ensure peace and unity among the students and on the campus. She advised the President to carry others along in decision-making, apply wisdom where necessary, and maintain harmony in the College.


The OYSCOHEST Chief Executive commended the Electoral Committee, the representative of the College management, the College Librarian, Mr. Emmanuel Olukayode Akinsoji, the ISEC, the security operatives, the  NANS JCC, Oyo axis and other stakeholders for a job well done, promising that the Management will cooperate with the SUG executives to move the College forward.


In their respective remarks, the trio of Mr. Emmanuel Olukayode Akinsoji, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Amos Taiwo Ojewale, and the Chairman of NANS Joint Campus Committee, Oyo axis, Comrade Taiwo Tiamiyu, expressed delight over the hitch-free conduct of the election, describing it as free and fair.


The newly elected SUG executives have since been inaugurated by the Chairman of NANS Joint Campus Committee, Oyo axis, Comrade Taiwo Tiamiyu.
