The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, has restated his administration’s firm commitment to transparency, fairness, and accountability. He made the declaration at the joint 2026 Procurement and Budget Retreat held on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at Crown City Park, Hotel and Resort, Agbara–Atan Road, Ogun State.
In his Opening Address, Hon. Ajose emphasized that due process remains central to strengthening public trust and enhancing service delivery. He stressed that under his leadership, the provisions of the Public Procurement Act 2021 (as amended) will be diligently implemented to guarantee value for money and foster sustainable development.
According to him, Olorunda LCDA “will maintain zero tolerance for shortcuts, favouritism, or any form of malpractice in the procurement cycle,” adding that every public fund must be prudently managed. He urged participants to prioritize proper planning, noting that a well-structured procurement process is the foundation of good governance.
Hon. Ajose also highlighted the importance of interdepartmental synergy in achieving effective governance, calling for strengthened collaboration to advance the council’s developmental goals.
The Procurement Retreat, themed “Implementation of Public Procurement Process in Local Government Governance,” featured presentations on development planning, the formation and functions of the Procurement Planning Committee (PPC), the role of the Local Government Tender Committee, and the duties of the Evaluation and Disposal Committee.
