Ajose Calls for Grassroots Youth Mobilisation in APC Membership Drive

The Executive Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, has called for massive grassroots mobilisation of youths to strengthen the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) membership registration exercise.

The call was made at the South-West Progressive Youth Ambassadors (PYA) Summit held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Y Arena, Ikoyi, Lagos. Hon. Ajose was represented at the event by Olaniyi Idowu.

Speaking on behalf of the council chairman, the representative emphasised that effective governance depends on a strong, reciprocal relationship between leaders and the youth. He noted that Nigerian youths remain indispensable partners in building a responsive, inclusive and people-centred democracy.

Hon. Ajose described Nigerian youths as agile, innovative and resourceful, stressing their capacity to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda and mobilise support for the economic and governance reforms of President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, youths possess the energy, intellect and time required to educate, sensitise and positively re-orient citizens at the grassroots on national policies and reforms, while also countering misinformation surrounding government initiatives.

The council chairman reaffirmed his belief that sustainable development, political stability and national transformation can only be achieved through unity of purpose, collective responsibility and sustained youth participation in governance and party structures.

He also commended the organisers of the maiden edition of the Progressive Youth Ambassadors Summit and reiterated the unwavering support of the Olorunda LCDA administration for youth-driven initiatives that promote good governance, political inclusion and national development.

Earlier, the Coordinator of PYA Badagry Federation, Prophet (Amb.) Agemo Iwalere Matthew, led a sizeable delegation to the summit, underscoring strong grassroots engagement and commitment to progressive ideals.

Dignitaries at the event included the Lagos State Secretary to the Government, Barr. (Mrs.) Abimbola Saliu-Hundeyin; Chairman of the Ogun Free Trade Zone, Dr. (Mrs.) Afusat Balewa; National Coordinator of PYA, Amb. Kayode Idowu Davies; Chairman, Board of Trustees, PYA, Amb.
