Ikorodu Leaders, Youths, Stakeholders Back President Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election*

Political leaders, traditional rulers, youths, students and community stakeholders from Ikorodu Division in Lagos State have expressed unified support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.


Prominent Ikorodu political and community leaders speaking at the Ikorodu Division Unites For 2027 Rally, on Monday, at the Ikorodu Town Hall,  highlighted landmark achievements of President Tinubu’s administration, citing ongoing economic reforms, infrastructure investments, social intervention programmes, and renewed emphasis on national stability, among others as compelling reason why President Tinubu deserves re-election.



Also, royal fathers across the division, who addressed journalists at the palace of the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, backed the re-election bid of the president.


In his opening remarks, the co-chairman of the group, Col. Onafowokan Bolaji Titilola, PhD,  Chairman of the group, reiterating the position of the entire Ikorodu people on President Tinubu said, “Today, we gather not merely out of party loyalty, but out of conviction in a leader whose vision, courage, and capacity have been tested over decades and proven beyond doubt. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is a leader of uncommon resolve, a strategic thinker, and a statesman, whose footprints of development are visible from Lagos to Abuja, and whose impact continues to shape the future of our nation, the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.   


Among those who addressed participants at the rally were Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, representing Lagos East Senatorial District, and Hon. Babajimi Benson, who represents Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Both lawmakers reaffirmed their support for the President and emphasised the need for continued collaboration between the federal government and the National Assembly. 


According to them, Tinubu’s policies, though challenging in the short term, were aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy and strengthening long-term national development. They urged party members and Ikorodu residents to sustain support for what they described as ongoing reforms.


Members of the Governance Advisory Council, GAC, from the division,and the APC apex, under the leadership of His Excellency, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, reiterated Ikorodu division’s political loyalty to the ruling progressive bloc since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999.


 He noted that the division has consistently supported the party through successive electoral cycles, positioning itself as a dependable political base in Lagos State. He stressed that this history of loyalty reflects both ideological alignment and confidence in progressive governance policies associated with Lagos politics over the past two decades.



They also emphasised that Ikorodu’s political participation has extended beyond voting patterns to include grassroots mobilisation, policy advocacy, and community development initiatives aligned with government programmes.


The All Progressives Congress, APC Chairman in Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, commended the people of Ikorodu division for their unwavering commitment to the party and their support for the president. 


Other top officials who spoke at the meeting include; Council chairmen, Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Members of the Lagos State Executive Council from the division, community and religious leaders.
