Seasoned Fuji Star Yusuf Olatunji Akeju (Oba Akeju-Olufimo 1) Set to Drop New Hit Album

The Fuji music scene is set for another exciting moment as seasoned and highly talented Fuji musician, Yusuf Olatunji Akeju, popularly known as Oba Akeju-Olufimo 1, has announced plans to release a brand-new album in the coming weeks.

Akeju-Olufimo 1 is not a new name to Fuji lovers, especially in Northern Nigeria, where he has built a solid reputation over the years as one of the most consistent and respected voices in the genre. His musical journey began as far back as 1996, when he officially started singing and honing his craft across various platforms and events.

His big break into the recording scene came in 2007/2008 with the release of his debut album titled “Won A To Te.” The album enjoyed wide acceptance and laid a strong foundation for his career. He followed it up with other successful projects such as “Oorelope” and “Message,” albums that did not only resonate within Yorubaland but also travelled far beyond the South-West.

Interestingly, Yusuf Olatunji Akeju was born and brought up in Sokoto State, a background that greatly influenced his wide appeal and dominance in the Northern part of the country. Over the years, he has remained a force to be reckoned with in states such as Sokoto, Kebbi and Kaduna, where he commands a very strong and loyal fan base which formed a bigger Fans Club established in 2019. His relevance in the region is further reflected in his regular appearances at major social gatherings, cultural festivals and high-profile events.

The Fuji star’s popularity is not limited to Nigeria alone. He boasts a well-structured fan club with executives not only at home but also in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States of America, a testament to his growing international recognition.

Despite his Northern upbringing, Yusuf Akeju-Olufimo 1 is an indigene of Ogbomoso, from the Ijeru-Oba clan, and he has never failed to proudly project his roots through his music and public engagements.

Speaking on his relationship with senior colleagues in the Fuji industry, Akeju-Olufimo expressed deep love and respect for all Fuji legends. However, he openly acknowledges King Saheed Osupa as his mentor and biggest influence, noting that Osupa’s style, discipline and lyrical depth have greatly shaped his musical direction.

Fans and industry watchers are now eagerly anticipating the release of his fourth studio album, which is widely tipped to be a blockbuster, just like his previous works. With his consistency, lyrical strength and strong fan support, expectations are high that the upcoming project will further cement his status as a leading Fuji act, especially in Northern Nigeria.

Music lovers can also access his works online, as his songs are available on Audiomack under the name akejuolufimo.

As the countdown begins, one thing is certain: Oba Akeju-Olufimo 1 is ready to remind the Fuji world why his name continues to ring loud across Nigeria and beyond.
