Steel Guardians Appoints Tugbiyele as New Managing Director

 



Steel Guardians Limited has appointed Mr. Segun Tugbiyele as its new Managing Director, effective March 1, 2026, marking a leadership transition aimed at strengthening the company’s growth strategy.


Tugbiyele brings more than 35 years of professional experience across the finance, oil and gas, and real estate sectors. 


He previously held several key positions at CMB Building, Maintenance and Investment Company Limited, where he developed extensive expertise in organisational management and administration.


The company said the appointment is expected to position Steel Guardians for its next phase of expansion, leveraging Tugbiyele’s experience in corporate leadership and strategic management.


Commenting on the development, the Group Managing Director of CMB Building, Maintenance and Investment Company Limited, Mr. Kelechukwu Mbagwu, commended the outgoing Managing Director, Ms. Mfon Udofia, for her role in stabilising the company during difficult periods.


Mbagwu noted that Udofia provided strong leadership that helped the company navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and other operational challenges, describing her as “a solid and inspiring leader who ensured the company’s survival.”


Following her exit, Udofia will focus on expanding Oyster Management Company, which she described as her “first love,” while the CMB Group expressed confidence that Tugbiyele’s tenure would be “prosperous and profitable” for Steel Guardians.
