Taye Currency’s Camp Blasts Adeyanju’s ‘7-Day Ultimatum,’ Says Journalism Is Not a Courtroom

‎Following a seven-day ultimatum reportedly issued by media personality Bamidele Adeyanju, demanding that prominent Fuji musician Taye Currency appear to respond to allegations circulating in public discourse.

‎The move has drawn a sharp and forceful reaction from the camp of the Fuji star, whose principal is Taiwo Akande Adebisi. In a statement released by the organisation’s Public Relations Officer, Tope Eluyefa, the ultimatum was dismissed outright as an act that goes far beyond the professional boundaries of journalism.

‎The organisation questioned the legitimacy of the demand, warning that the media cannot assume powers reserved for judicial institutions.

‎“Since when did a media platform transform itself into a court of law capable of summoning individuals and compelling them to defend themselves against allegations?” the statement asked pointedly.

‎The response further criticized the tone and method of the invitation, arguing that issuing an ultimatum to someone under the guise of seeking clarification contradicts the ethical foundation of responsible journalism.

‎According to the organisation, professional investigative reporting requires balance, careful verification of facts, and the willingness to hear all sides before reaching conclusions. Instead, the group alleges that the narrative being promoted appears heavily skewed and driven by a small circle of critics.

‎The statement specifically referenced individuals described as remnants of the Oluyole Fuji circle who, it claims, have repeatedly been given a platform to launch attacks against the Fuji artist. Having allegedly exhausted those voices, the organisation suggested that the current strategy is to provoke the musician through sustained public criticism in a bid to force a reaction.

‎Despite the growing controversy, the organisation insists the campaign has failed to achieve its intended objective.

‎“Rather than diminish him, the continuous attacks have only highlighted the growing reputation and professional engagements of Taye Currency,” the statement declared, insisting that the Fuji star’s influence within the industry remains firmly intact.

‎In what appears to be a final rebuke, the organisation declared the seven-day ultimatum “null and void from the outset,” stressing that it carries neither legal authority nor professional justification.

‎The statement also warned that journalism must not be reduced to issuing ultimatums or assuming the dual role of investigator and judge.

‎Observers say the dispute has further intensified the long-running tensions within the Fuji music circle, with supporters and critics on both sides closely watching how the unfolding drama will shape public perception in the coming weeks.

‎For now, the camp of the Fuji musician maintains that professional decorum, ethical responsibility, and respect for due process must remain the guiding principles in media practice.
