The Lagos State Security Trust Fund has donated 60 bulletproof vests, 60 ballistic helmets, and a refurbished power bike to the Rapid Response Squad as part of efforts to enhance security operations and improve personnel safety across Lagos State.
The operational equipment was presented on Wednesday at the squad’s headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, by the Executive Secretary of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, to the Commander of the RRS, Shola Jejeloye.
Speaking during the presentation, Ogunsan said the donation was part of the Trust Fund’s continued support for security agencies in Lagos State aimed at strengthening operational capacity and improving crime-fighting efficiency.
He stated that the LSSTF remained committed to providing critical logistics and equipment required by security agencies to effectively protect lives and property across the state.
According to him, the Fund would continue collaborating with security formations to ensure officers are adequately equipped to tackle emerging security challenges.
Receiving the items, Jejeloye expressed appreciation to the LSSTF for what he described as timely and consistent support to the Rapid Response Squad.
He noted that the protective gear would significantly boost officers’ safety, confidence, and operational readiness during emergency response and anti-crime operations.
“We are deeply grateful to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for this generous support and for consistently standing with security agencies in Lagos State. These ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests will go a long way in enhancing the safety and operational readiness of our officers in the discharge of their duties,” Jejeloye said.
The RRS commander also assured residents that the squad would remain committed to proactive policing and the protection of lives and property across Lagos State.
