2027: Independent Campaign Group Backs Tinubu's Second-Term Bid

 


The Forward Bola Ahmed Tinubu Independent Campaign Group 2027 (ICG) has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, citing what it described as his outstanding achievements in security, education, infrastructure, and economic development.



This was disclosed  on Monday, in in a programme organic to endorse Tiunbu for second term,the group said President Tinubu's administration has recorded significant progress in addressing the country's security challenges. It pointed to the recruitment of 50,000 police officers, forest guards, and additional military and paramilitary personnel, as well as the allocation of N5.4 trillion to the security sector in the 2026 national budget to strengthen efforts against insecurity.

According to the group, the administration has also expanded access to higher education through the Students Loan Scheme, which it said has provided financial support to thousands of students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue tertiary education.


The group further commended the President's commitment to infrastructure development, stating that ongoing projects across the country have improved living standards, generated employment opportunities, and contributed to national economic growth.


On the economy, the ICG said the administration's policies have encouraged investment, stimulated economic activities, and created a more conducive environment for businesses to operate.


Describing itself as a coalition of professionals, experts, elder statesmen, and grassroots mobilizers, the group said it believes President Tinubu's record in office and his vision for Nigeria justify his re-election bid in the 2027 general election.


The group called on Nigerians to support the President's second-term aspiration, expressing confidence that his continued leadership would promote sustained development and national progress.
