Akosile Bags Conference 57 Award for Outstanding Media Leadership

 The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, has been honoured with the Award of Excellence by Conference 57, the umbrella body of Chief Press Secretaries (CPSs) across the 57 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.


The award was presented on Saturday during the Conference 57 annual retreat held in Ibeju-Lekki.

Presenting the award, the Chairman of Chairmen in Lagos State, Engr. Sesan Olowa, described the honour as a recognition of Akosile’s exceptional contributions to strategic communication, effective public information management, and his unwavering support for information officers across the state's 57 LGAs and LCDAs.


Olowa commended Akosile for his leadership, accessibility, and commitment to strengthening collaboration between the Lagos State Government and local council communicators.


“Conference 57 recognizes dedication, professionalism, and the commitment to projecting the good works of government. Mr. Akosile has consistently demonstrated these values,” he said.


Responding to the honour, Akosile expressed appreciation to the Chief Press Secretaries for the recognition and dedicated the award to Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as well as the entire Lagos State media team.


He encouraged members of Conference 57 to remain objective, proactive, and united in promoting government policies and programmes while telling the Lagos story from the grassroots.


Conference 57 said the Award of Excellence forms part of its annual recognition initiative aimed at celebrating individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing government communication and public engagement across Lagos State.

Abiodun Faleke, following reports that some members have allegedly purchased nomination forms to contest against him.
