‎Ogbomoso, Oyo State – Joy and relief swept across Ogbomosoland on Saturday as the students and their teacher abducted in Orire Local Government Area regained their freedom, bringing an end to days of fear, uncertainty and intense prayers that had gripped the ancient town.

‎The successful rescue sparked celebrations across communities, with residents describing the development as a victory for faith, unity and the coordinated efforts of security agencies, government authorities and traditional institutions committed to safeguarding lives and property.

‎Leading the outpouring of gratitude, the Chairman of Orumogege Sports Promotion, Amos Adewale Ado, described the safe return of the victims as a divine miracle and a testament to God's unfailing mercy over Ogbomosoland.

‎According to Ado, the entire region remained united throughout the ordeal, as families, religious leaders, traditional rulers and concerned citizens continuously offered prayers for the victims' safety until the joyful news of their rescue was announced.

‎"This is a victory for all the people of Ogbomosoland. We return all glory to Almighty God, whose mercy and divine intervention made the safe rescue possible. Our prayers were answered, and our joy today knows no bounds," Ado declared.

‎He noted that the incident tested the resilience of the people but also demonstrated the strength of unity, saying every segment of society stood together in hope until the victims regained their freedom.

‎Ado paid glowing tribute to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, for providing calm, courageous and inspiring leadership throughout the crisis.

‎He said the revered monarch remained deeply involved by offering fatherly guidance, mobilising stakeholders and encouraging residents to remain peaceful while security agencies carried out their operations.

‎"Kabiyesi's exemplary leadership gave our people hope during one of the most difficult moments in recent times. His commitment to the peace and security of Ogbomosoland deserves the highest commendation," he said.

‎The Orumogege Sports Promotion Chairman also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for strengthening the nation's security framework and reaffirmed confidence in the Federal Government's determination to combat criminality across the country.

‎He equally applauded Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, as well as his continued support for security operations across the state.

‎Ado further hailed the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, local vigilante groups and other security operatives for displaying professionalism, courage and effective collaboration that culminated in the successful rescue of the victims.

‎He stressed that the operation further demonstrated the importance of synergy among security agencies, traditional institutions and local communities in confronting insecurity.

‎The sports administrator also appreciated religious leaders, youth organisations, community associations and thousands of residents who remained steadfast in prayers and solidarity with the affected families throughout the period of captivity.

‎"This victory belongs to every resident who prayed, every leader who stood firm, every security operative who risked his life, and every stakeholder who refused to give up hope. Together, we have shown that unity remains our greatest strength," Ado added.

‎While celebrating the safe rescue, he urged residents to remain vigilant by supporting security agencies with timely and credible information capable of preventing future security threats.

‎He maintained that peace and security should remain a shared responsibility and called for sustained cooperation between government, traditional rulers, security agencies and members of the public.

‎Ado concluded by praying for lasting peace across Ogbomosoland, Oyo State and Nigeria, asking God to continue protecting citizens and granting wisdom, strength and success to leaders and security personnel working tirelessly to preserve the nation's peace and stability.
