Dr. Segun Musa Named National Patron of NANC as Association Unveils Reform Agenda
Dr. Segun Musa has accepted his appointment as the National Patron of the National Association of Nigerian Comrades (NANC), marking a significant milestone in the organisation's ongoing leadership and institutional reforms.
The appointment was formally announced during a leadership summit in Lagos following a high-level courtesy visit to Dr. Musa's office on Tuesday by a delegation of the association led by its National President, Comrade Johnclaude Peter.
Speaking during the visit, the NANC leadership described Dr. Musa's acceptance of the role as a major boost to the association's efforts to strengthen its leadership structure and advance its vision for student and youth development across Nigeria.
The appointment comes as the association embarks on a broad reform agenda aimed at repositioning its national operations and improving organisational efficiency.
A key component of the reforms is the implementation of the newly approved NANC Unified Identification and Digital Membership Policy 2026, an initiative designed to modernise membership registration, improve student data management and eliminate duplication within the organisation.
According to the association, the digital policy seeks to address longstanding challenges of identity verification, fragmented membership records and organisational cohesion that have affected student activism over the years.
NANC noted that the centralised digital membership framework will provide a transparent and verifiable database, strengthen internal administration and enhance the association's capacity to engage government institutions and other stakeholders on issues affecting Nigerian students and youths.
The leadership expressed confidence that Dr. Musa's experience and guidance as National Patron would support the successful implementation of the reforms and contribute to building a more united, accountable and effective student movement in Nigeria.
