The trial of the principal suspect in the alleged murder of two prominent sons of the Ajiran Community in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State resumed today at the Lagos High Court, Igboosere, before Justice Abdul-Raheem Muyideen.
The case was heard in Court 8, where the defendant was brought before the court in a wheelchair due to his medical condition. He pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.
Addressing journalists after the proceedings, counsel to the defendant, Bar Adedotun Ajulo, said the court ordered that the defendant should remain at the Police Hospital, where he has been receiving medical treatment, under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police.
Ajulo urged members of the public and all interested parties to allow the judicial process to run its course without interference, stressing that the court should be allowed to determine the matter based on the evidence presented before it.
He described the court's decision as one that serves the interest of justice and society, adding that all parties should respect the legal process.
Justice Muyideen subsequently adjourned the case until November for the continuation of trial.
