Anambra State Governor Awards New Contracts for Facelift, to Combat Flooding
As part of the ongoing urban regeneration and infrastructural advancement of Governor Charles Soludo's government, the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved strategic contracts to further beautify Awka metropolis and to combat flooding. According to the State's Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, ANSEC at its fourth meeting held in the Council Chamber on February 24, 2025, approved the reconstruction and fortification of the perimeter fence at the commissioners' quarters, Awka, and construction of 2 NR model gates at general hospitals, with additional work of landscaping; interlocking and fencing of Enugwu-Otu Aguleri Hospital Compound. The Council has also awarded the contract for the repainting and renovation of the VIP stand, and the reclamation and control of flood and gully erosion at the Cosmetics Market.
