The Dotun Oladipo I Knew*

Image
TRIBUTE ————— * By Rasheed Bolarinwa The news of the passing of Dotun Oladipo hit me this morning with a profound sense of loss. Nigeria has lost a distinguished journalist, media entrepreneur, and advocate of ethical journalism. But beyond the public tributes and professional accolades, I have lost a friend, ally, confidant, and brother. My relationship with Dotun dates back to the late 1990s when we were colleagues at The Punch newspapers. Even then, he stood out as a journalist of uncommon conviction - calm, principled, and deeply committed to the ideals of responsible journalism. We shared similar beliefs about the role of the media in society: to inform truthfully, act responsibly, and serve the public interest. Our bond endured long after our paths diverged professionally. While I moved into corporate communications and banking, Dotun continued to distinguish himself in journalism, eventually founding The EagleOnline and rising to become President of the Guild of Corporate O...

BBNaija S11: Biggie switches up nominations for week 5, Chimsom Chuka takes HoH title again

Image
Monday’s nomination process took a different turn as Big Brother gave the housemates a chance to make their choices in full view of the House. Following the usual Conspiracy Hour, each housemate was handed an envelope, pen and paper and asked to name two housemates they wanted to save. But this time, keeping their choices to themselves was not an option. Once their decisions were made, the housemates had to read them out to the entire House and explain why they had chosen those particular housemates. The process put relationships, loyalties and alliances on display, with housemates having to stand by their choices and, in some cases, explain them to the people sitting right in front of them. At the end of the process, Sheba, Goddessa and Aikou were the three housemates saved by their fellow housemates. As part of the nomination twist, the Head of House, Chimsom Chuka, was given the power to decide which of the three would remain safe. With only one spot available, Chimsom Chuka c...

Image
Every day, we consume more information than we can realistically keep track of. A restaurant recommendation shared in a group chat. A work meeting link sent over email. An event flyer spotted on social media . A brilliant idea that arrives just before bedtime and feels too important to forget. Most of us respond the same way: we take a screenshot, save a post, bookmark a page or send ourselves a message. The problem isn't capturing information anymore. The problem is finding it when we actually need it.That's where the Infinix HOT 70 Pro 5G is trying to do something different.Among its headline features is Infinix FlashMemo, an AI-powered tool designed to help users save, organise and retrieve information more intelligently. Instead of allowing useful content to disappear into an endless stream of screenshots, FlashMemo captures information from your screen and automatically generates summaries, titles and tags, making it easier to find later. It's the kind of feature that ...
