APC inaugurates Lagos West 1 campaign committee.



The Lagos State  All Progressives Congress (APC)  on Monday inaugurated its campaign committee comprising 206 members  for the Lagos West 1, Senatorial district. 


Senator Ganiyu Olarewaju Solomon (GOS),the Director-General of the Campaign Council, who inaugurated the committee at the party Secretariat, Acme road, Ogba,  charged them to cooperate with one another to achieve success.


Solomon said that all members must  give the camapaign the necessary attention it deserves and work for the victory of the party at all levels.


The DG said that  the party members must work assiduously for the success of the forthcoming general election  and ensure that the aspiration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of becoming the next  elected President of Nigeria under the umbrella  of the APC comes into fruition.


He enjoined them to remain focus and ensure that the  party records all round success .


"I want to urge you all to give this the necessary attention it deserves.


"This is the first time somebody from our state, Lagos state, will be coming out to contest for the highest position in the country and the best we can do, is to give him and other candidates of our party  the best of support. 


"We must ensure that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Deputy, Kashim Shettima win the Presidential election,  also ensure  the reelection of Governor Babajide Sanwo-ola and his deputy, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamsat, as the Governor and deputy governor of Lagos State, as well as all other APC candidates.


"If you represent a candidate, you must wear them. Wear their clothes and brands.  Just sell them to the public and canvas  votes for them. 


"We should be counting our votes in millions and it should not be less than four to five millions. 


The work is from your polling units, you must win your polling units," Solomon said. 


 The DG called on the members to cooperate with one another and sacrifice whatever they can  to ensure the success of the party in the 2023 elections. 


Hon. Babatunde Aboyade, the Vice Chairman, Lagos West Senatorial district, said electoral victory should be a collective responsibility which should be achieved with the  efforts of all.


Aboyade who is also the Deputy Director General (DDG) for the Senatorial District, charged the  members to give their best to the party and work as a team while urging them to call the attention of the party to any grey areas and loopholes so that necessary adjustment could be made before the elections. 


" Lagos APC has a target of 5 million votes with West 1 having 40 per cent of the polling units in Lagos state and its dense population. 


"I believe we can deliver 50 per cent of the targeted votes in 2023 with total commitment and serious efforts by our party members." 


Aboyade enjoined the committee to work with critical stakeholders and party members through a rigorous house-to-house campaign in order to  ensure victory for the party  in 2023.


In attendance were, Dr Abayomi Finnih, a member of the Lagos State Governor Advisory Council (GAC), Chief Funsho Ologunde, former Vice Chairman, Lagos West. Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule ably represented by Hon. Rasak Ajala, her campaign Director, Barr. Ademola Sadiq,  the Assistant Deputy Director General for West 1 Senatorial District, Engr.Adekunle Olayinka, Director, Volunteers and Support Groups Directorate and  Hon Kehinde  Babalola, Deputy State Women Leader
