New Political Party Lunched In Lagos

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been urged to grant full registration to the newly launched political party, the African Reformation Party (ARP), as part of efforts to address political corruption in Nigeria and ensure the election of competent leaders for the betterment of the nation.

This call was made on Tuesday, 1st October 2024, during the official unveiling of ARP-M, held at Voyage Inn & Hotel, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos. The event was attended by key stakeholders and political enthusiasts.

The convener, Engr. Mutiu Kunle Okunola, stressed the urgency of tackling Nigeria's leadership crisis, which has resulted in widespread hardship and discontent among the populace. He argued that the current structure of leadership, rooted in colonial mentality, is largely responsible for the nation's difficulties, and must be reformed to secure a prosperous future for Nigeria.

In a bid to promote inclusivity and encourage participation, Engr. Okunola announced that the ARP would waive nomination form fees for aspiring candidates across the country. He emphasized the party's mission to challenge colonial-era mindsets and foster a new democratic system that works for all Nigerians.

He further revealed that since 2020, the ARP has been campaigning for a political revolution, seeking to reform democracy itself, rather than focusing on short-term protests over issues like fuel prices or minimum wage. The party, which has established 14 directorates and leadership across the six geopolitical regions of Nigeria, aims to expand its reach to all states in the federation, building on foundations laid since July 1st, 2019.
