This Carnival Brings Unity Among The People In Ikosi Isheri LCDA Says Council Boss
The second and final day of the Ikosi-Isheri Ketu Magodo Cultural Carnival was vibrant and filled with exciting performances by talented troupes and artists from across the region.
Speaking with journalists, the council chairperson, Princess Samiat Adolanle Bada, remarked, "The Awori, the original settlers of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, laid the foundation of our community through their dedication to farming, fishing, and craftsmanship, shaping our rich cultural identity. Today, we honor their legacy while celebrating the diversity of ethnic groups—Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Efik, and others—that make our community vibrant. This unity in diversity is our strength."
Princess Bada also took the opportunity to commend His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his THEMES Plus agenda, which emphasizes the vital role of culture and tourism in driving economic and social development. She expressed her pride in aligning the community's dedication to cultural preservation with this vision. In the coming months, she looks forward to welcoming the Governor to the LCDA to commission key projects that will further uplift the community.
In a show of support, the women in politics within the APC, led by the APC Women Leader in Lagos, Mrs. Jumoke Thomas, applauded the council chairperson for her outstanding work in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA and for fostering unity among the people. They used the occasion to offer prayers for her success, wishing that God would grant her heart's desires. The women also presented her with an award in recognition of her efforts.
Many artists graced the event, and Alao Malaika entertained the crowd with lively Fuji music, adding to the joy and celebration of the day.
