Bowen University VC Commends Globacom's Service Commitment
The Vice Chancellor of Bowen University, Professor Jonathan Oyebamiji Babalola, has commended telecommunications giant Globacom for its consistent digital service delivery to the university. Hosting the company's Enterprise Sales team at the Bowen University campus in Iwo, Osun State, Professor Babalola highlighted Globacom's unwavering support over the years and expressed gratitude for the company's reliable services, which he said have been instrumental in helping the university achieve its mission of academic excellence.
Professor Babalola further appealed for additional support from Globacom in the form of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that could enhance the university’s operations and improve educational outcomes.
In response, Mr. Adeniyi Odejobi, Globacom’s Regional Enterprise Business Lead for the South West, underscored the company’s commitment to providing digital solutions across Nigeria. According to Odejobi, Globacom has been a transformative force in Nigeria’s telecommunications landscape for over 21 years, providing services to enterprises, SMEs, government bodies, universities, and millions of individual users. He attributed Nigeria’s high mobile phone penetration to Globacom’s affordable offerings, which he said have made it possible for every Nigerian to access a telephone line.
Odejobi also highlighted Globacom’s achievements in technological innovation, including the construction of Glo 1, a privately-owned international submarine cable that has helped expand Nigeria’s connectivity.
Encouraging further collaboration, Odejobi suggested that Bowen University explore more partnership opportunities with Globacom, particularly in digital service areas such as the Glo Learning Management System (LMS), Toll-Free Data, and Mobility services, to support the university’s growth and developmen
