APAPA CUSTOMS GENERSTES N1 TRILLION IN LESS THAN FIVE MONTHS

The biggest Customs command revenue generating command in the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Premier command has achieved a grand breaking achievement as it was reported that it generated a landmark revenue collection of N1 trillion in just less than five, from January 1 to May 10, 2025, the command said.


This great and commendable achievement by the Apapa Port Command shows how committed and determined the is in the discharge of its duties.


With this mind bugging revenue outing, stakeholders are convinced that the command under the leadership of Babatunde Olomu is not leaving any stone unturned in his resolve to boost, meet and even surpass the command's revenue target even before the first half of 2025. 



Reports have it that the Command’s revenue profile is up with a total of ₦1,002,968,178,694.07. And information around indicates, is coming in not more than 45 days ahead of the command’s first half report of activities.


Speaking recently on this achievement, the Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu was reported to have said that his men and officers have  worked night and and so to ensure that all avenues through which revenue leakages are coming from are blocked .


The Apapa CAC's style of leadership has helped the command in no small measure to restore the confidence of the Apapa stakeholders as well as other port users within Apapa port operation area. Just as these operators on their own have confirmed the level of activities going on there, saying it has improved the command's efficiency and effectiveness in the recent time.


The stakeholders equally attributed all these to high profiled leadership of the man at the top, that is the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi led management.


The successful ₦1 trillion landmark  revenue feat recorded by CAC Olonu ahead of the middle of the fifth month, he said, is a confirmation of the Command’s readiness to surpass the total of ₦2.3 trillion that was collected last year before December 2024.


To him, the officers and men of the command are the power behind this.


He therefore shifted the commendation to the Officers of the Command for raising the bar and have continued in sustaining and retaining the success story the  good work the command is known for since he came on board since May 2024 as CAC Apapa Command,.


While speaking further on their resolve and efforts to put in more in the area if anti-smuggling operation, the CAC he called for increased efforts in ensuring maximum collection, suppression of smuggling through diligent cargo examination and facilitation of lawful trade.


He thereafter commended the CGC and his management team for good work their are doing while thanking Wale Adeniyi in particular for the trust he has in him as a capable hand to man one of the biggest commands in the whole of the federation.
