The case involving the principal suspect in the alleged murder of two prominent sons of the Ajiran Community in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State came up on Thursday before the Lagos High Court, Igboosere, Lagos.
The matter was heard in Court 8 before Justice Abdul-Raheem Muyideen.
Speaking with journalists after the proceedings, counsel to the defendant, Barrister Adedotun Ajulo, raised concerns over his client's health condition. According to him, the defence team was only informed on Wednesday that the defendant would be produced in court on Thursday.
Ajulo stated that the defendant was brought to court in an ambulance and was reportedly on oxygen support at the time of his appearance.
He further noted that the courtroom is located on the second floor of the court building and alleged that there was no lift or other facility to ease the movement of the defendant given his medical condition.
Despite the concerns raised by the defence, the court ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
Ajulo maintained that medical personnel and medical reports were available but were not adequately presented before the court during the proceedings.
"Tajudeen must remain alive for justice to be served. As counsel, we know the appropriate legal steps to take," he said.
Efforts to obtain comments from the prosecution counsel after the hearing were unsuccessful.
Following submissions from both the prosecution and defence teams, Justice Muyideen adjourned the case until July 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
