APC's Oyebamiji Promises Infrastructure, Jobs as Campaign Train Moves Through Gbongan, Ode-Omu and Ikire

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, has continued his statewide campaign tour with visits to Ode-Omu, Gbongan and his hometown of Ikire, canvassing support ahead of the 15 August 2026 governorship election.


Addressing residents during a stop at the palace of the Olufi of Gbongan, Oyebamiji assured the people that an APC victory at the polls would bring meaningful development and the dividends of democracy to communities across the state.


He urged eligible voters to come out in large numbers on election day and cast their ballots for the APC, pledging to deliver a people-oriented administration focused on improving the standard of living of Osun residents.


The APC flag bearer outlined his agenda, promising to prioritise road infrastructure, youth empowerment, job creation and improved welfare for senior citizens. He said his administration would pursue inclusive development that would benefit all parts of the state.

In his remarks, the Olufi of Gbongan welcomed Oyebamiji and members of his campaign team, expressing appreciation for the visit. 


The traditional ruler assured the APC candidate of the goodwill of the people of Gbongan and offered prayers for a peaceful, credible and successful governorship election.



The campaign train later moved to the Gbongan Town Hall, where Oyebamiji met with members of the Artisans Association. He solicited their support and reiterated his commitment to policies that would stimulate economic growth, promote entrepreneurship and create employment opportunities across Osun State.


Speaking at the rally, former Minister of Police Affairs, Hon. Jelili Adesiyan, criticised the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, alleging shortcomings in the areas of security and governance.


Adesiyan also accused the governor of engaging in political attacks against opposition figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship election.


He emphasised that the APC would continue to conduct its campaign peacefully and democratically and commended security agencies for their efforts to maintain law and order before, during and after the election.


The campaign train concluded its tour in Ikire, where large numbers of party supporters gathered to receive Oyebamiji as he intensified efforts to mobilise voters ahead of the August 15 governorship poll.
