Oyo NUJ,Fresh Fm Organise Tributes For Late Journalist




 


The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo State Council will on Thursday stage a two-hour commendation service/Tributes in honour of the late General Manager of the Fresh FM, Ado-Ekiti, David Ajiboye who died about two weeks ago.


Ajiboye was a Nigerian Tribune staff before he was appointed as Publicist to the ace Musician and Founder of Fresh FM Nigeria, Dr. Yinka Ayefele.


Ajiboye was until his death, the pioneer General Manager of the station in Ekiti State. He died at the age of 48 during a brief illness, recently.


A statement signed by the Oyo NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ademola Babalola and made available to reporters by the Secretary of the Union, Comrade Sola Oladapo said Ajiboye ‘gone too soon’ but lived eventful life.


Babalola said colleagues of the late iconic professional would converge on, at the Dapo Aderogba Hall of the Press centre located at Iyaganku GRA Ibadan to give a special commendation service and tributes in honour of the departed colleague between 2pm-4pm.


In the same vein, the management of the Fresh FM Nigeria would stage two separate events at their Ibadan Corporate headquarters and Ado-Ekiti Station, respectively in honour of their deceased management staff.


While the special tributes night for Ibadan arm of the station holds at Ayefele Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, the candle light procession holding simultaneously in Ado-Ekiti would take-off at 4pm within the premises of the Ekiti State NUJ Press Centre, old secretariat premises and terminates at the Music House, Egbewa, Adó Èkìtì.


The statement from Fresh FM management added that the sympathisers shall move in slow and solemn procession to Fresh FM premises Music House , Egbewa Junction, Ado Ekiti at 4pm, while all the Journalists, family, friends and members of the public have been admonished to observe Covid-19 protocols at all the event venues.
