The President of MAN, Otunba Francis Meshioye, made the call in Lagos while speaking at a media briefing ahead of the Association’s 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled to hold from October 5 to 7, 2026, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. Meshioye said the manufacturing sector remained a critical pillar of a resilient economy, stressing that it creates jobs, drives innovation, strengthens domestic value chains and transforms local resources into economic prosperity.   The Oyo State Head of Service, Dr. Adenike Fasina, mni has charged Civil/ Public Servants in the state to uphold professionalism, integrity and transparency in the discharge of their duties. Dr. Fasina gave this charge on Monday during the kick-off ceremony of the 2026 Public Service Games football competition held at the Ikolaba High School Mini Sports Complex, Agodi-GRA, Ibadan. Prophet Ikuru said he had prayed to God to protect President Tinubu throughout his visit to the United States. He urged Nigerians not to entertain fear over the President’s trip, assuring them that Tinubu would travel and return safely. The cleric also expressed optimism that the visit would strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and the United States and promote greater cooperation between both countries. According to him, Nigerians should continue to pray for the President and the nation, as stronger diplomatic ties could bring positive opportunities for the country.

  The Public Affairs Correspondents Association of Nigeria (PACAN) has urged political parties and candidates contesting the 2027 general elections to make issue-based campaigns, policy proposals and constructive debates the focus of their electioneering. PACAN, an umbrella body of journalists covering political activities, made the call in a statement signed by its President, Mr Idris Tele-Olukoya, and General Secretary, Mr Adekunle Okunade, in Lagos. The Association urged political candidates to present clear manifestos, policies and programmes to Nigerians instead of resorting to insults, name-calling, character assassination and personal attacks. The group also renewed its demand for restructuring, fiscal federalism, resource control and the devolution of powers to the states and regions, arguing that Nigeria’s current structure is hindering development. The country recorded 195.1 million active telephone subscribers as of July 2026, according to official Nigerian Communications Commission statistics.
