NCC Mandates Immediate Reactivation of Lines Affected by NIN-SIM Verification Issues**

Image
--- ** It has been observed that, over the weekend, numerous telecom subscribers were unable to access their telephone lines due to their inability to verify their National Identification Numbers (NINs) with their Subscriber Identification Modules (SIMs). Consequently, their numbers were blocked by telecom service providers in accordance with the laws and policies governing NIN-SIM linkage, as alerted by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). Telecom consumers and the public may recall the compulsory linkage of NIN with SIM, which commenced in December 2020 when the government mandated telecommunication companies to bar unregistered SIM cards and those SIMs not linked to a NIN. Since December 2023, the Commission has revised the deadline several times; initially set for 15 April 2024, for the complete network barring of subscribers with four or fewer SIMs that had unverified NIN details. This deadline was then extended to 31 July 2024, to provide consumers with additional time

Primate Ayodele’s Prophecies: A Cautionary Tale for Nigeria’s Powerful Elite*

Image
 * By Osuji David, Lagos Knowledge, they say, is power. Whatever you don’t know is totally beyond you, whoever has more knowledge than you is absolutely above you and should be accorded the honour whenever he or she speaks especially about things you are oblivious about. Powerful men in Nigeria especially within the political and business sector assume that they know everything, they get too carried away sometimes about their successes that they fail to even acknowledge God in their dealings, they ignore his prophets despite the fact that they don’t have an idea about what will happen to them in the nearest future.  The bible says ‘My people perish because of lack of knowledge’, this implies that when you have knowledge about what is to come, you can’t perish by it because you get prepared for whatever is it and either good or bad, you find your way around it but when you have no idea about what is to come, sudden perish is inevitable. Prophets are the mouthpiece of God, HE speaks thro

Image

He emphasized that while the administration of President Tinubu is not directly responsible for food production, it plays a crucial role in regulating prices within markets, supermarkets, and local shops. He commended the government's efforts to support farmers by providing grains and other essentials but underscored the necessity for further measures to control prices and alleviate the burden on ordinary Nigerians. Prophet Ikuru warned that protests, if not properly focused, could harm the economy, drawing parallels to Kenya, where previous protests allegedly had negative cons

FICYO CALL FOR PEACEFUL DIALOGUE AND BACK OUT FROM THE NATIONAL PROTEST

Image
As the planned protest on August 1st approaches, Federation of Indigenous and Community Youth Organization (FICYO) make a crucial decision to save the nation and withdraw from the National Protest. We urge the youths across the nation to prioritize dialogue over destruction and avoid actions that may lead to chaos and breakdown of law and order.  The ENDSARS protest in Lagos and some other parts of Nigeria, which was hijacked by disgruntled elements, resulted in the loss of innocent lives and properties worth billions of Naira. Similarly, genuine agitations in Kenya and other parts of the world have turned violent, causing harm to lives and properties.  We are using this medium to encourage our youths to Let us learn from these experiences and tread softly. "While we acknowledge the current economic hardships," we recognize that our economy has been struggling since the last dispensation.  We must be honest with ourselves - we cannot expect overnight solutions.  However , w
