Wema Bank, Nigeria’s leading innovative financial institution and the creator of Africa's first fully digital bank, ALAT, has been recognized as a Great Place To Work for the year 2024-2025. This marks the second consecutive year the bank has received the prestigious certification.

Great Place To Work, a global authority on workplace culture, evaluates companies based on organizational practices and employee feedback. The certification highlights Wema Bank’s commitment to fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee well-being.

Wema Bank’s employee-focused policies have earned it recognition across the industry. The bank offers an industry-leading number of standard leave days, a Cost-Of-Living Adjustment (COLA) to help employees cope with economic changes, and provides additional amenities such as a crèche and a fully equipped gym. In 2023, the bank also implemented salary increases for its Non Full-Time Equivalent (NFTE) employees.

In response to the certification, Wema Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Moruf Oseni, emphasized the bank’s focus on employee welfare, saying, “Our employees, the Wema Bank Knights, are the backbone of our success. We remain dedicated to providing a supportive, enriching, and fulfilling work environment, and this certification is a testament to that commitment."

Wema Bank first earned the Great Place To Work certification in 2023, alongside four notable awards, including 2nd Best Place to Work in Nigeria (Large Corporate Organization category) and Best Workplace for Millennials. This latest recognition further solidifies the bank's position as a leader in promoting workplace innovation and employee development.

Oseni added, “This certification not only affirms our commitment to enhancing employee experiences but also challenges us to go further in our efforts to create an outstanding work culture that will drive the bank's continued growth and success."

Wema Bank’s dedication to its employees continues to set it apart, reflecting positively on its service delivery and overall organizational performance.
