Arewa APC In Lagos State Gets New Executive

 


The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally inaugurated the new executive officers of the Arewa Community in Lagos, led by its Chairman, Alhaji Saadu Gulma. The event, which took place at the APC Secretariat in Acme, Ogba, Lagos, marked a significant milestone for the community, as it seeks to strengthen its leadership and foster unity among its members.


In his address, the Chairman of the Lagos APC, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, presided over the inauguration and described the newly appointed officers as the new elders of the Arewa Community. He charged them to exemplify exemplary leadership by embracing inclusivity and fostering unity without bias or discrimination.


Speaking with journalists, Mr. Yerima Shettima, the National President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, expressed immense delight over the inauguration. He lauded the APC for its foresight in empowering the Arewa Community, describing the event as a harbinger of progress. Shettima further pledged to work collaboratively with the new executives, particularly in the forthcoming elections, and reaffirmed his belief in the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, emphasizing the governor's commitment to the welfare of the Arewa people in Lagos.


Alhaji Saadu Gulma, Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the Arewa Community, reiterated the community's readiness to partner with Governor Sanwo-Olu's administration in addressing pressing issues, including the welfare of physically challenged individuals and eradicating street begging. He described the day as a new dawn of harmony and progress for northerners residing in Lagos and pledged to advocate for policies that would reduce the high cost of food and improve living standards across the state.


HRH Chief Sanni Yakubu Ejima, the Onu Igala General and Chairman of Kogi Traditional Rulers in Lagos, commended the Lagos State Government for its visionary leadership in establishing a unified voice for the Arewa Community. He urged the community to remain steadfast in their prayers for national peace and prosperity, emphasizing the need for collective unity to propel the state forward.


Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, extended her congratulations to the newly inaugurated executives, urging them to stay focused and avoid distractions. She highlighted the contributions of the Arewa Community, particularly traders in the Mile 12 Market, in fostering development in the state. She also humorously remarked on the community's reliability, stating they could even be entrusted with marriage alliances to further solidify ties.


Alhaji Shehu Unman, a member of the APC Arewa Community Board of Trustees and Chairman of Mile 12 Market, called on the new executives to strategically identify and implement impactful projects that would benefit the state. He underscored the importance of unity, stating that the consolidation of leadership within the Arewa Community would foster love and harmony, not only among members but also among the larger population of Lagos State, thereby ensuring improved accessibility and efficient resource management.


The inauguration was a momentous occasion, signifying a renewed commitment to progress, inclusivity, and development for the Arewa Community in Lagos State.
