Ogun State Govt Seals Up Venue for Senator Gbenga Daniel's Empowerment Program in Ijebu-Igbo

The Ogun State Government has sealed up the Omo'ilu Foundation Complex in Ijebu-Igbo, the venue slated for an empowerment program by Senator Gbenga Daniel, representing Ogun East Senatorial District, scheduled for this afternoon.

In what appears to be a continuation of the faceoff between Senator Daniel and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, government officials sealed the complex on Saturday, less than 24 hours before the event.

Senator Daniel had made arrangements to use the complex, located at Adeboye Road, Ijebu-Igbo, for his empowerment program in Ijebu North Local Government.

A national leader of the Oodua People's Congress (OPC), Comrade Adesina Akinpelu, has strongly condemned the action of the Ogun State Government, describing it as uncalled for.

In a chat with newsmen, Akinpelu lamented that it was unfortunate that politics is being played with the welfare and progress of the people of Ogun East Senatorial District.

"This action is a clear demonstration of the government's insensitivity to the plunger of the people. Senator Daniel's empowerment program is aimed at uplifting the lives of the people, but the government is more interested in stopping him from achieving this noble goal.

"We urge the government to immediately open the venue and allow the program to hold. The people of Ogun East are suffering, and they need all the help they can get. It's time for politicians to put the interest of the people above their own selfish interests," Akinpelu lamented.

Akinpelu further stated that people of Ogun East Senatorial District and the State at large are keenly watching the situation closely and will take necessary actions at the polls.
