Oriolowo Hails Nigerians’ Resilience, Urges Govt to Ease Hardship

"Senator Adelere Adeyemi Oriolowo, Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly..." Osun West and a prominent political leader in Osun State, Senator Adelere Oriolowo, has congratulated Nigerians on the New Year, praising their resilience in the face of economic and social challenges.

In a New Year message made available to journalists, Oriolowo thanked Nigerians for remaining steadfast despite insecurity, unemployment, economic hardship, and the high cost of living and transportation experienced in the outgoing year.

According to him, Nigerians were able to survive the difficult period only because of their enduring spirit, hope, faith, and perseverance. He described these qualities as defining characteristics of Nigerians, noting that the people have always found strength in adversity, whether during times of turmoil or national distress.

Oriolowo called on the Federal Government to urgently address the plight of citizens, stressing that Nigerians have endured prolonged hardship over the years. He said the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must begin to translate into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary Nigerians as the country moves into 2026.

He warned the government against taking Nigerians for granted because of their ability to endure hardship, adding that citizens have no other country to call their own and deserve responsive and compassionate governance.

The former lawmaker also urged Nigerians to continue working together for national development, emphasizing that peace, unity, and faith remain critical to overcoming the country’s challenges and fostering harmonious coexistence.

Turning to state politics, Oriolowo called on the people of Osun State to support the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the next governorship election, describing the party as the solution to the state’s challenges.

He concluded by wishing all Nigerians a prosperous New Year filled with peace and an improved quality of life.
