Prophet Ikuru Raises Concerns Over Nigeria Sports, Calls on Anthony Joshua to Seek God

The founder of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry in Lagos, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, has claimed that he foresees danger in Nigerian sports, saying he has been praying for the country’s athletes and sports figures.

Prophet Ikuru said he maintains a friendship with the president of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, adding that the supporters’ leader often calls him to pray for the national team whenever they have matches.

According to the cleric, this relationship has further strengthened his interest and love for sports in general.

Prophet Ikuru stated that he received what he described as a divine revelation concerning challenges facing Nigerian sports. He claimed that while praying to understand the nature of the danger, he was shown an image of British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua.

“I asked God where the danger was coming from, and He brought the picture of Anthony Joshua to me and said, ‘This is what will happen,’” the prophet said. “Immediately, I began to pray and work on the matter spiritually.”

The cleric used the opportunity to call on Anthony Joshua to “come back to the Lord,” saying God has a purpose for the former heavyweight boxing champion.

“God needs him. God has given him everything he needs in this world,” Ikuru said.

He added that he has taken it upon himself to regularly pray for talented Nigerians who represent the country on global stages.

“Our gifted people are the faces of Nigeria wherever they go. What happened to Anthony Joshua, God has shown it to me, and I have been praying about it,” he said.

Anthony Joshua has not publicly responded to the prophet’s claims.
