NCC Presents Q4 2025 Network Performance Report, Reaffirms Commitment to Transparency
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has formally presented its Q4 2025 Network Performance Report, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, data-driven regulation, and improved quality of service in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector.
Speaking at a media briefing attended by NCC directors, heads of department, staff of the Commission, industry stakeholders, and members of the press, the Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management, Rimini Makama, underscored the critical role of the media in shaping public understanding of developments within the sector.
Makama described transparency as a guiding principle of the Commission’s regulatory approach, noting that open access to information strengthens the industry, builds public trust, and reinforces accountability among telecom operators.
According to him, the NCC has continued to proactively share data and performance insights to support informed decision-making by stakeholders and ensure that service providers remain accountable to consumers.
He recalled that in 2024, the Commission partnered with global analytics firm Ookla to develop nationwide Network Coverage Maps. The maps, he explained, give consumers an objective tool to compare network quality across locations and operators. The partnership also led to the introduction of Quarterly Network Performance Reports, designed to provide consistent, data-driven assessments of network performance nationwide.
“The first of these reports, the Q3 2025 Network Performance Report, was published in October last year. Today, we are pleased to formally present the Q4 2025 report and engage with stakeholders on its findings,” Makama said.
He noted that the latest report highlights measurable improvements in network performance across the country, as well as gains in the overall Quality of Experience delivered to consumers. According to the Commission, these improvements reflect the collective efforts of regulators and industry operators to address longstanding service quality challenges.
Makama emphasized that the objective of the briefing was to share key insights from the report, clarify industry performance trends, and provide stakeholders with reliable data that matter to consumers.
Describing the media as strategic partners, he urged journalists to engage critically with the data presented and help amplify stories of progress, accountability, and reform within the telecommunications sector.
The NCC reiterated its openness to feedback, questions, and recommendations from stakeholders, stressing that continued collaboration remains essential to sustaining improvements in service delivery and consumer satisfaction.
The Q4 2025 Network Performance Report is part of the Commission’s broader efforts to promote transparency, enhance regulatory oversight, and drive continuous improvement in Nigeria’s fast-evolving telecommunications landscape.
