Questions Trail Edo Governor Over Pre-Election Prophecy

Following the conclusion of the Edo State governorship election, public attention has turned to a pre-election prophecy credited to Prophet Godwin Ikuru, founder of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, Lagos.

Before the election, Prophet Ikuru had reportedly declared that Monday would emerge as the next governor of Edo State, a statement he described as a prayer and divine revelation. With Governor Monday now sworn into office, many supporters of the ministry believe the declaration has come to pass.

As a result, discussions have intensified on social media and within religious circles, with members of the public raising questions about the relationship between the governor and the cleric. Some are asking whether Governor Monday remembers meeting Prophet Godwin Ikuru during the campaign period, when both men reportedly took a photograph together.

Others are also curious to know whether the governor plans to reconnect with the prophet or publicly acknowledge the role of spiritual support ahead of the election.

So far, there has been no official response from the governor or his media team addressing these questions. Political observers note that interactions between politicians and religious leaders are common during election periods, but public acknowledgment after victory often depends on personal choice and political considerations.

Meanwhile, members of Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry say they are grateful to God for what they describe as an answered prayer, insisting that the outcome of the election has strengthened their faith.

As public interest continues to grow, many will be watching to see whether Governor Monday responds to the calls for recognition or a renewed meeting with Prophet Godwin Ikuru.
