TRIBUTE: Senator Oriolowo Pay Tribute TO LATE ALHAJI S. OLA AREMU

Alhaji S. Ola Aremu was a man whose life spoke louder than certificates or formal education.

Though he was not highly schooled, he deliberately developed himself, embracing hard work, vision, and determination. His bold adventure into the transport business laid the foundation for a lifetime of success and service to humanity.

He was remarkably humble in all his dealings, conducting his business with simplicity, honesty, and respect for all. A natural philanthropist and committed community leader, Alhaji S. Ola Aremu devoted his resources, time, and influence to the growth and stability of Iwoland.

He was a trusted and reliable friend to the late Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Asiru Olatunbosun. His loyalty was unmatched, as he explored all possible contacts and avenues to ensure that his friend ascended the throne.

This singular act alone reflected his belief in destiny, friendship, and service.

Alhaji S. Ola Aremu made history as the first Chairman of the Iwo Day Celebrations and served meritoriously as a member of the 1st and 2nd Iwo Board of Trustees. He also personally financed logistics during the 2006 National Population Census, a contribution that helped Iwo Local Government emerge as the most populous local government in Osun State.

Intelligent, versatile, constructive, helpful, and deeply patriotic, he played an active and selfless role in shaping the progress and development of Iwoland to what it is today. He was a diversified businessman and a successful cashew farmer, rising through dedication to become chairman of every association he belonged to—an unmistakable testament to his leadership qualities and integrity.

Indeed, it is not academic certificates that define greatness, but the ability of an individual to positively impact his community—politically, economically, socially, educationally, and most importantly, religiously. These virtues were embodied in the life and personality of the late Alhaji S. Ola Aremu.

A patron of many social clubs, a schemed and tactical politician, a devoted family man, an elderly friend, and a true compatriot—his absence leaves a void that cannot easily be filled.

Rest in perfect peace, Alhaji. May Allah (SWT) forgive all your shortcomings and grant you Al-Jannah Firdaus. You are deeply missed, but your legacy lives on.
