Lagos All Progressives Congress Denies Delegate Stranding Claim, Accuses Sahara Reporters of Misinformation
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed a report published by Sahara Reporters alleging that party delegates from the state were stranded due to a failure to release mobilisation funds.
In a statement issued by its Lagos chapter, the APC described the report as false and misleading, insisting that all accredited delegates from the state were transported to Abuja in an organized and comfortable manner. The party said arrangements were properly coordinated to ensure the convenience of delegates throughout their journey and upon arrival.
According to the statement, adequate accommodation was also provided for the delegates in Abuja, contradicting claims that they were left stranded at airports or motor parks.
The party further clarified that funding for its activities does not come from the state government. It stressed that the APC operates as an independent political organization with its own financial and logistical structures, adding that it is inaccurate to link such responsibilities to the Lagos State Government or Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Lagos APC also accused Sahara Reporters of repeatedly publishing unverified and sensational claims intended to mislead the public. It urged citizens to critically evaluate news sources and rely on credible information.
Reaffirming its commitment to party unity and governance, the APC said it remains focused on supporting effective leadership in Lagos State and across Nigeria.
