A leading aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) Nomination and Expression of Interest Form, formally entering the race ahead of the party’s primary election scheduled for May 15.

Adewale secured the forms on Wednesday morning in Abuja, marking a key step in his bid to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

The development comes at a difficult personal moment for the aspirant, who is mourning the recent loss of his mother. Despite the bereavement, Adewale has continued his political activities, citing a strong sense of responsibility to his constituents.

In recent days, he visited riverine communities in Amuwo Odofin affected by a gas explosion, where he met with grieving families and expressed his condolences. He also held a town hall meeting in Igbologun, engaging with community leaders, youth groups, women, and other stakeholders.

During the meeting, Adewale reiterated his commitment to what he described as people-centered representation, promising to advocate for improved infrastructure, economic opportunities, and greater government attention to the needs of the constituency, particularly its riverine areas.

Community leaders at the event voiced support for his candidacy, pointing to his previous tenure as Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government between 2008 and 2014. They credited his administration with delivering infrastructure projects and community-focused initiatives, and pledged to mobilize support for him in the upcoming APC primary.

With the primary election approaching, Adewale’s campaign is gaining traction, positioning him as a prominent contender in the race for the party’s ticket.
