Hundreds of women under the aegis of the Alimosho Progressive Women (APW) took to the streets of Alimosho Federal Constituency on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in a show of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the lawmaker representing the constituency, Hon. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The six-hour solidarity march, which began at Mashalasi Bus Stop in Alimosho Local Government Area, saw participants dressed in coordinated outfits as they moved through major parts of the constituency, chanting slogans and calling for continuity in leadership.

The procession covered key areas including Iyana-Ipaja, Mosan-Okunola, Agbado-OkeOdo, Egbeda, Isheri-Olofin, Idimu, Igando, and Ikotun, drawing attention from residents and passersby.

Speaking during the rally, APW President, Alhaja Ajike Yusuf, described Hon. Ayuba as a high-performing representative whose achievements align with the policy direction of the current administration.

“Hon. Ayuba has demonstrated strong leadership both at the grassroots and national level. His record in office justifies our support for his return,” she said.

Also addressing the gathering, the group’s Vice Chairman, Oluwafunke Adekanye, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to mobilizing voters in support of both President Tinubu and the lawmaker.

The march concluded at the Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area secretariat, where the group was received by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Semiu Ayinla, who represented the Executive Chairman, Hon. Idris Balogun.

Ayinla commended the initiative and expressed confidence in the lawmaker’s chances, citing visible developmental projects within the constituency.

The rally ended with a call on stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alimosho to unite in support of the re-election bid of President Tinubu and the return of Hon. Ayuba to the House of Representatives.

The demonstration marks one of the early grassroots mobilization efforts in the constituency as political activities gradually build up toward the 2027 elections.
