The Committee for the Protection of People’s Mandate (CPPM) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his third year in office, commending his administration for what it described as bold and courageous economic reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria for a better future.

In a press statement issued on Friday and electronically signed by its Executive Director, Nelson Ekujumi, the group said President Tinubu assumed office at a period of severe fiscal and structural difficulties, stressing that the administration’s tough economic decisions have restored hope for better days ahead.

According to the statement, CPPM acknowledged that the administration’s reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange unification, and expansion of student loan access, were difficult but necessary measures intended to block leakages and create more fiscal space for national development.

The group stated that although the reforms have been painful for many Nigerians, they were designed to secure the country’s long-term future rather than provide short-term political comfort.

“We are aware that these bold and tough economic reforms by President Bola Tinubu secure the future far above short-term comfort, notwithstanding its politicization from expected quarters,” the statement read.

CPPM, however, urged the Federal Government to ensure that the reforms translate into improved living conditions for Nigerians.

“The administration should consolidate on its reforms so as to make life livable for all Nigerians and all those living in Nigeria,” the group said.

Highlighting some of the administration’s achievements within the last three years, CPPM pointed to what it described as an “economic reset,” noting that government revenue had improved while deficit financing had reduced.

The group also cited ongoing infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Highway, Benin-Ore Expressway, Kaduna-Lokoja Highway, airport terminal upgrades, seaport reconstruction, as well as intervention programmes like NELFUND and CREDICORP.

On security, CPPM said security agencies had recorded significant successes against terrorists and criminal groups, adding that the momentum was clearer than in previous years despite existing challenges.

It also praised the administration’s institutional reforms, including efforts to strengthen anti-corruption agencies, digitise government services, and improve the ease of doing business in the country.

The group described President Tinubu’s three years in office as a period of “bold leadership in a tough season,” adding that nation-building requires patience and consistency.

“Nation-building is a marathon, not a 100 meters sprint,” CPPM stated.

The organisation further commended Nigerians for their resilience and sacrifices amid prevailing economic and social challenges, which it said had been worsened by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

It urged citizens to remain committed to democracy and resist what it described as misinformation and incitement by anti-democratic elements seeking to destabilise the country.

CPPM reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and constructively engaging governments at all levels to ensure that democratic mandates deliver prosperity, security, and dignity to Nigerians.
