SALLAH: HONOURABLE ADEBISI CALLS FOR PEACE, UNITY AND ADHERENCE TO THE LESSONS OF SACRIFICE

The people of Ibadan Southwest Constituency 1 have been urged to continue to maintain peace, law and order as Muslims across Nigeria celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival.

In a Sallah message made available to constituents, the lawmaker representing the Ibadan Southwest constituency 1 and Chief Whip Oyo State Assembly, Honourable Yusuf Adebisi called on residents, party faithful, youths and community leaders to imbibe the teachings, values and lessons of Prophet Mohammed, especially the spirit of sacrifice, obedience and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.

According to the statement, Adebisi said Eid-el-Kabir remains a significant period in Islam which reminds humanity of the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to sacrifice his beloved son in obedience to the command of Allah before Almighty Allah mercifully replaced the human life with a ram.

The message noted that the great lesson behind the celebration is one of selflessness, love, patience, sacrifice for humanity and complete trust in God.

The representative further encouraged Muslims and all residents of the constituency to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, progress and sustainable development in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

He also appealed to youths and residents to avoid violence, unlawful gatherings and acts capable of disrupting the peaceful atmosphere of the constituency during and after the celebration.

“Let us continue to live together in harmony irrespective of political, religious or ethnic differences. Sallah teaches us compassion, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence. We must continue to uphold these values for the progress of our constituency and society,” the statement added.

The message concluded with warm greetings to Muslim faithful, wishing them a peaceful, joyful and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration filled with happiness, prosperity and divine blessings.
