The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, on Thursday, October 1, inspected ongoing rehabilitation and construction works at Carter Bridge in Lagos, assuring residents that the project would be completed in due course.

Umahi, who visited the project site to assess the level of work and address challenges that may affect its timely completion, expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far.

The Minister assured Lagosians that the Federal Government remained committed to completing the project and ensuring that the bridge is restored to full functionality.

According to him, the government is focused on delivering critical infrastructure that will improve transportation and ease movement across the state.

After inspecting the Carter Bridge project, Umahi proceeded to Lagos Calabar coastal highway where he also assessed the progress of ongoing construction work.

He inspected various sections of the project and received updates on the level of completion, while emphasising the need for contractors handling federal road projects to maintain quality standards and adhere to agreed timelines.

The Minister's inspection forms part of efforts by the Federal Government to monitor major infrastructure projects across Lagos and ensure their timely completion.
