Hon. Kafilat Ogbara Installed as Yeye Sewa of Lagos in Grand Ceremony at Iga Idunganran

It was a day of pride, honour, and deep cultural significance as Honourable Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, Member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, was formally installed as the Yeye Sewa of Lagos by His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu (Oba of Lagos).
The historic chieftaincy installation, held at the revered Iga Idunganran, was graced by an array of distinguished personalities from across Lagos State and the nation. Leading the dignitaries was the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, accompanied by his wife, the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu. Also present were the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, and his wife, alongside the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.
The ceremony further drew the presence of senators, members of the House of Representatives, commissioners, senior government officials, and respected traditional and political leaders, all gathered to witness the conferment of the prestigious title.
The installation sparked widespread jubilation across Kosofe Federal Constituency, as constituents flooded the palace and environs to celebrate one of their own. The Executive Chairmen of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA and Kosofe Local Government, alongside party leaders and community stakeholders, were present in solidarity, underscoring the strong grassroots support enjoyed by the federal lawmaker.
In her acceptance remarks, an emotional Hon. Ogbara expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, acknowledging their leadership and inspiration. She described the honour as a call to deeper service and commitment to humanity. She reserved special appreciation for His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Akiolu, thanking him for finding her worthy of such a revered chieftaincy title and pledging to uphold the values, dignity, and responsibilities it represents.
Hon. Ogbara reaffirmed her dedication to public service, anchoring her renewed commitment on the President’s #RenewedHope Agenda, with a promise to continue championing policies and initiatives that uplift women, families, and the most vulnerable in society.
