  The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) successfully averted a potential disaster on Wednesday following a diesel tanker spillage on the Charity axis, inward Oshodi Oke/Anthony, along the Lagos expressway. The incident, which occurred earlier in the day, posed a significant risk to commuters, residents, and infrastructure in the area. The fully loaded tanker spilled its content onto the main carriageway, creating a dangerous situation that required immediate action. Responding with urgency, LASTMA officials, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire Service and other emergency agencies, swiftly arrived at the scene to contain the spill. The coordinated effort prevented potential hazards such as fire outbreaks and environmental damage, ensuring the safety of lives and property.   OGUNCCIMA urged stakeholders across public and private sectors to emulate the Dangote Refinery’s innovative approach to development.   Rite Foods Limited, Nigeria's leading food and beverage company, has clinched the 'Waste Reduction Initiative of the Year Award' at the Social Impact & Sustainability Awards (SISA 2024). According to the organizers of the award, Rite Foods' recognition with the award is “For innovative efforts in waste reduction, setting a benchmark for environmental responsibility and promoting sustainable practices within the industry”.
