Tinubu Will Win 2023 Election With Wide Margin-Hon Adejare

The Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Hon. (Dr.) Omiyale Kayode Adejare has expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress , APC Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win the February 2023 presidential election with a wide margin.

Speaking in an interview with Distinct News Adejare said Tinubu is more experienced than all other candidates and so he is going to triumph in the coming election.

“We are trusting God, the election of 2023 is going to be a walk over for Asiwaju. Definitely, we don’t see it as a serious challenge. Though we have opponents, the opponents we have are ‘boys’ and when you are talking about the issue of the Presidency, it is not a boy issue, it is a man issue.

“This is a man that has been in the system. He has built the Local Governments, he has built the State, and he has also built the Federal Government through the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as president in 2015. You will agree with me that this is a man that means so much at states and at the federal level. Many of the other contestants do not know what running Local Government entails. We have one or two of them that have been in government but the question is, what things they can point to as their achievements”.

He said Tinubu has made a lot of people and all the people he had made are working for him towards ensuring his success in the coming election.

“He has made a landmark in Lagos. He has laid a solid foundation in Lagos which Nigeria as a whole is building upon now. He is a pathfinder, he’s a king maker. We, the disciples of Asiwaju, don’t have a problem with him. We have confidence in him and we are still working for him.

“What we are waiting for is for February 25, 2023 to come, so that we can go to the polls to elect Asiwaju to be the President and coming May 29, we will swear him in.

“There is a Yoruba adage that says there is no honour for a king without a wife. If you are a President, the honour you have is to have the national assembly working with you, make sure your party has the majority members in the national assembly.

“Thank God in Lagos State, we have a performing Governor, a team that is solid. The Governor and the Deputy Governor of Lagos State have been tested and trusted and all our other candidates at the senatorial level or constituency or House of Representatives level are trusted and tested. In Yaba now, the person we are presenting as the senatorial candidate is someone that has been a council chairman, he is the current deputy speaker at the House of Assembly. Now that he is going for the senate, we are rest assured that he is going to win. The person that is going to the House of Representatives, he has spent four terms at the House of Assembly. So he is a professional legislator and the person that is going for the House of Assembly slot is once a council chairman and has held various positions at the state level. So all our candidates are tested and trusted, all of them are more qualified than what other parties can present to us”, Adejare said.

In preparation for the coming elections, Adejare said the party has started the sensitization since last year, saying “we have been carrying our people along that we are going for the election and we must win. What we do during the primary is part of sensitization. Don’t forget that our party used direct primary and when we were going for direct primary, we brought some people on board to take part in the primary. So all along we have been sensitizing our people. Our people are more involved and we are prepared for this election.

“Presently at a party level, we have been having our regular meetings, the ward meetings, the LGA meetings and all that. What we are telling them is to mobilize their people at the street level, at zonal level and at the ward level . We are expecting that any time from now INEC will be distributing the voter cards, I want to assure you that our people are prepared to collect their cards. Apart from this, we are collaborating with other organizations like National Orientation Agency, we are giving them support to go round the community, go round the wards to sanitize people and mobilize the people for election.”

“I learnt that INEC too is doing its own sensitization to make sure that people come out to collect their voter cards. I need to mention this, in Yaba here, we have so many higher institutions, we have so many commercial houses, many of the cards we are having here, many of the owners of the cards may not be residing in this local government. They just did the registration, probably in the future they may need something from the government and they will ask them to go and bring the card. Many of them have registered here, many of the students have registered here, but they may not be around during the election. But they have registered here and we are still going to mobilize them to come and collect their cards.

On the effort at help the masses in the local council development area, Adejare said “every month we use to organize a programme through which we give assistance to 100 widows and what we are trying to tell them is that the only party you can vote for in Nigeria, that is performing, that can deliver, that can bring us out of this crisis we are now, is the All Progressive Congress. (APC)”.
