Lagos State Government Organized Vocational Training For People Living With Disability

 



The ministry of Wealth Creation and. Employment organized training for people living with Disability (PWD) in Lagos

The flag off which was held at Alimosho Local Government Secretariat.


Speaking at the flag-off ceremony is the Commissioner Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment Hon Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, he said it is indeed a demonstration of the Babajide olusola Sanwo-olu Administration to ensure inclusion of all category of Lagosians into the T.H.E.M.E.S plus agenda, and our ministry is standing on the piler of "MAKING LAGOS A 21st CENTURY ECONOMY.


Ajigbotafe further said  because of the challenges face by PWD people to move around resently Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu donate 50 wheel chairs,170 walking stick,75 white canes and 69 crutches to 364 people living with disability to aid their mobility.


He said the government can not bear the financial burden alone ,the ministry is seeking collaboration with the private sector to initiate and kick start the program that will have meaningful impact in the lives of person living with disability and all Lagosians in general.


"In the next couple of months we hope to roll out more program that will ensure that Lagosians enjoy the dividend of democracy


Ajigbotafe also said the participants will be train in phone repair,Hair dressing, Makeover,Art and craft, Leather work, Shoe and Bags and Barbing.


He now urge all the trainees to take note of individual experience and vacational knowledge at your disposal he added.


In his own welcome address the permanent Secretary of the ministry ,Dr Biodun Onayale said we will be having this train in there centre , vocational Rehabilitation center for people living with disability owutu ikorodu,Egbe idimu local government Secretariat and spinal cord injuries Association of Nigeria Amuwo odofin center.


Onayale said this program is design to eradicate poverty and create job opportunity especially among the vulnerable resident in our dear state he said.


Speaking also is chairman Alimosho Local Government Hon Jelili said he urge the beneficiaries to make use of the opportunity been giving to them to focus and learn so that they can be able to start their own business.


The council boss now use the opportunity to thank Lagos State government for given this opportunity for people living with disability in Lagos State.
