Senator Monday Okpehbolo will perform Well In Edo Says Ikuru

In a recent address to journalists, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, the Lagos-based founder of Jehovah Eyes Salvation Ministry, expressed his confidence in Senator Monday Okpehbolo, the Governor-Elect of Edo State. Prophet Ikuru assured the people of Edo State that Senator Okpehbolo will fulfill his duties when sworn in as the fifth governor at Osadebe House, Benin, in November 2024.

Prophet Ikuru shared that he had a personal conversation with the Governor-Elect and observed an undeniable zeal in his commitment to serve the people. He emphasized that Senator Okpehbolo appears eager to deliver his best to the citizens of Edo State.

However, the prophet issued a cautionary message, advising the Governor-Elect to remain true to his promises. "If Senator Monday Okpehbolo fails in his commitments to the people, I will be compelled to intervene through prayer, as I consider myself a shepherd to the people," Prophet Ikuru stated. He also expressed hope that external influences, particularly political godfathers, would not cause the governor to neglect the very electorate that voted for him in such large numbers.

Addressing allegations of electoral irregularities, Prophet Ikuru firmly dismissed such claims. "I was present during the election, as were many others, and the turnout was massive in support of the Governor-Elect. There was no violence or ballot box snatching, and the process was conducted peacefully. INEC and the Nigerian Police should be commended for their excellent work," he said, adding that it would be misleading to suggest that there was rigging or other forms of irregularities.

Prophet Ikuru further stressed the importance of politicians in Nigeria adhering to their manifestos, noting that the electorate always expects fresh ideas and new styles of governance. Despite general voter apathy, many people still participated in the election, driven by the promises made by their preferred candidates, with high expectations of delivery.

In related developments, some stakeholders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) have urged the party's national leadership to recognize Prophet Godwin Ikuru for his unwavering support and contributions to the party's success in various elections. "He is a prophet who has consistently stood by, prayed for, and mobilized support, both financially and morally, for the APC. Even in Edo State, he was always with Senator Monday Okpehbolo, offering advice, prayers, and canvassing for him. His belief in the party and in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is strong, and it is time the APC recognizes his efforts," advised Comrade Amaechi.
