Ibeju-Lekki Council Enumerates 11,296 Residents for Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Programme

In a major step toward inclusive social welfare, the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has successfully concluded its enumeration exercise for the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme, capturing a total of 11,296 residents across the council area.

According to the report, 8,365 residents (74%) were registered manually, while 2,931 (26%) completed their enrollment online. The gender breakdown shows that women account for 64% (7,183) of the beneficiaries, compared to 36% (4,113) men — a reflection of the higher economic vulnerability among women in the area.

Participation was robust across all wards, with the following distribution: Ward A recorded 2,099 residents (19%), Ward B 1,988 (18%), Ward C1 1,455 (13%), Ward C2 1,129 (10%), Ward D 1,210 (11%), Ward E 1,861 (16%), and Ward F 1,554 (14%).

Further analysis of the data highlights key categories of vulnerable residents: widows (3,050 – 27%), unemployed persons (3,163 – 28%), elderly residents (2,259 – 20%), individuals with medical challenges (1,581 – 14%), and persons with disabilities (1,243 – 11%).

The report underscores the council’s commitment to leveraging accurate data for transparent, equitable, and well-targeted interventions under the Renewed Hope programme.

Speaking on the development, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to data-driven governance, emphasizing that such initiatives are vital to achieving sustainable social and economic progress for all residents.

The Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) is a Federal Government initiative aimed at cushioning the effects of economic hardship on vulnerable households nationwide.
